Lamborghini Super Trofeo at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA
May 12 -14, 2023
Embarking on a captivating journey from the East Coast to California, Lamborghini Super Trofeo embraces legendary circuits deeply entrenched in American motorsport heritage. Making its inaugural appearance in North America in 2013, this championship has magnetized both professional drivers and enthusiasts eager to push their limits at the helm of a racing Lamborghini, gracing renowned tracks like Laguna Seca.
And this year’s series kicked off on May 12 and ran through the 14th at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA.
In this thrilling series, we proudly showcased the exceptional talent of two Super Trofeo drivers: Jon Hirshberg #86 and Ofir Levy #13. Similar to the Ferrari Challenge, this racing event bears the unique characteristic where dealerships that sell the race cars also have their names adorning the vehicles, creating a symbiotic sponsorship connection.
Each race weekend consists of two races. In Race 1, the remarkable performance of Ofir Levy earned him a well-deserved spot on the podium, securing an impressive 3rd place.
In the midst of a fierce battle with Levy during Lap 6, Hirshberg encountered a captivating moment at the iconic Corkscrew corner – a legendary turn, famous for its breathtakingly steep downhill angle.
In the thrilling Race 2, Levy’s journey was cut short as he faced unforeseen engine issues. However, the race held an exhilarating twist for Hirshberg. In a heart-pounding turn of events on the last lap, during the final straight, the driver ahead of him experienced a spin-out, propelling Jon to seize a last-minute podium finish, securing an impressive 3rd place. The next round will take place on June 22-24 at Watkins Glen, NY – an iconic NASCAR track.
